Job description Site Name: UK – London – New Oxford Street Posted Date: Jan 21 2025 Sr. Director, Procurement CoE – Strategy & Performance Lead The deadline for the job posting is the 26th of January in 2025 Job Purpose: Provide strategic leadership for transformation of Global Procurement in partnership with the Chief Procurement Officer and Global Head, Centre of Excellence Key responsibilities: Strategy Partner and Chief-of-Staff for Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and Global Head, Centre of Excellence; operating in a fast-paced environment that requires ability to seamlessly shift across a wide variety of responsibilities. Act as a trusted business partner providing high degree of responsiveness and attention to detail across a wide variety of topics and priorities, driving the organization to focus on the most impactful and critical activities. Prepare and facilitate Global Procurement Leadership Team (GPLT) meetings. Lead creation and coordination of Board Papers, GLT presentations, and senior leader engagements; coordinate high quality preparation for key CPO and GPLT meetings within procurement and with stakeholders/cross functional teams Responsible for key stakeholder relationships and representation of Global Procurement on key councils and projects Oversee the creation of a working model that enables Global Procurement to align with and communicate to business stakeholders, enabling the category-oriented structure to remain connected to the service of business needs. Partner with finance and BU stakeholders to continuously improve ways of working Facilitate creation of overall GP KPI’s in partnership with Global Procurement Leadership Team (GPLT); Create and facilitate Portfolio Management framework that enables visibility and management monitoring for savings and value creation portfolio; functional accountability to for annual plan and inputs to finance plan. Enable Global Procurement to achieve goals via performance management, portfolio management and focused improvement efforts as required Design Global Procurement approach for key programs, including Stakeholder Management (inclusive of stakeholder mapping) and Supplier Relationship Management framework; Create and oversee the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework and toolkit, driving implementation across Global Procurement and with key stakeholders, driving incremental value from our supply base Lead Global Procurement’s participation in external benchmarking efforts; Deliver intelligence on external best practices for Procurement in support of GSK’s efforts in ongoing maturity enhancement. Enhance relative maturity and capabilities through transformation programs, benchmarking, and execution efforts Drives the alignment between central programs (e.g. Policy/Risk/Compliance, Supplier Diversity, SRM) and functional teams (e.g. Corporate Services Procurement, Direct Procurement) Drive communication and engagement strategy within function, in alignment with overall Global Procurement Communications strategy and cadence Manage/Lead team responsible for a significant breadth of accountability including functional strategy, program and project management, functional capabilities, early talent programmes, performance management, and policy, risk, and compliance Drive the future of procurement by implementing forward-thinking strategies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation Lead regular performance sessions with the Global Procurement Leadership team, ensuring that risks are mitigated through addressing gaps in compliance to policies and highlighting projects at risk Co-own procurement savings metric generation with Procurement’s Finance Partner, enabling planning and procurement performance tracking Foster a culture of innovation within the procurement team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches to procurement challenges Responsible for the governance of the Savings Methodology within Global Procurement, requiring leadership of the Performance and Governance Managers to regularly review Procurement projects and run performance reviews with their aligned Procurement LT member; support calculation of savings when methodology is unclear. Ensure that the systems (‘galaXy’) used are fit for purpose, have the relevant training, and support and provide the business the rigor required to audit and validate the savings Develop the Performance Management model to allow for regular and frequent updates against all defined objectives, including but not limited to savings delivery; working capital improvement, risk remediation; supplier simplification; master data, on-time payment and employee satisfaction Job Related Experience Bachelor (area of specialisation: Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, related field) 12 years’ experience working in corporate environment; 5 years’ experience working in procurement or related field Extensive experience in program management, including change management and executive communication Evidenced ability to manage and execute against a number of critical objectives such as savings and working capital Previous experience leading a team; Motivation for professional development and willingness to coach, mentor, and train others Significant experience working in a matrix business environment Superior networking skills and a proven ability to build productive and collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners Demonstrated high learning agility; proven ability to solve complex problems with limited oversight Experience developing presentations and business cased for executive audience Deep financial acumen High level of fluency in spoken and written English Pre ferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Masters or MBA (area of specialisation: Business, Supply Chain, related field) LI-GSK Why GSK?
