We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team, based at our site in Sherburn, Malton.
Severfield Modular Solutions offers a market-leading suite of products, including an expanding range of modular products to cater to diverse needs, including ‘Severstor’ units (robust, steel-framed modules that house critical systems equipment such as electrical switchgear) and ‘Rotoflo’ technology (a well-established high-efficient and controlled discharge system representing a major advance in materials handling technology).
In the Lead Electrical Engineer position, you will lead a team of Electrical Engineers producing electrical engineering designs for modular buildings, equipment housings, and other applications as required. This will involve input through all stages from tender appraisal through to contract completion.
The role will encompass LV system design, cable calculations (using Amtech), electrical schematic drawings (using AutoCAD), modelling of the installation (using Inventor), heating and ventilation calculations, and lighting calculations (using Dialux).
The role will also include the production of manufacturing specifications, drawings, and documentation including bills of materials. This role will be responsible for interfacing between the Engineering team and Project Managers on projects to ensure that the requirements for the above are understood, and to lead the team in delivering the above on each contract on time, in full to the required standard.
This role includes evaluation of the project, client and architectural requirements and electrical engineering design, investigations of any technical problems encountered, and provision of economical and viable solutions. This may involve liaison with more senior colleagues and working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Skills & Experience
You will need to have a HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, with significant experience in a relevant role post-qualification.
BS 7671:2018 IET wiring regulations 18th edition qualification is necessary, and familiarity with AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Amtech, and Dialux or equivalents would be beneficial.
