Main duties of the job We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) to join our dynamic and well-established team of Cancer Care ACPs in the Macmillan Acute Oncology Service (MAOS) The Cancer Care ACP team is divided into the Inpatient and MAOS ACP teams to provide seamless care for our service users. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Macmillan Acute Oncology Service where we provide prompt reviews of our patients by assessing them when they present to UHS for scheduled, unscheduled and emergency cancer care 24hrs a day. Patients who are able access service will have a formal Cancer diagnosis and will be experiencing complications of their treatment, their disease, or both The MAOS team are also currently key providers of the Cancer Care Emergency Line, alongside the MAOS Nursing team. This aspect is fundamental to the delivery of the service and is one of the primary ways in which patients have direct access to receive high quality telephone triage and allow for direct admission into our dedicated 24/7 assessment unit. On a day-to-day basis, you'll work within the unit to learn how to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who attend following triage by the Cancer Care Emergency Helpline service or by referral from pre-hospital healthcare professionals, primary care or the Emergency Department. These patients will have a cancer diagnosis and may be experiencing complications of cancer or its treatment.
