Forward South have recently commenced a new service for local residents- our Social Supermarket.We are opened **Monday 1pm-6pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-4pm**. We also offer wrap around support as well as offering food and everyday household items available by referral to us from trusted agencies.We operate a small but busy site at 23 University Street (we will be moving to a much bigger Lisburn Road site in the coming months for our Community Hub!), with staff and volunteers on site to welcome service users and guide them as to what goods are available.A staff member offers wrap around support and deals with more complex needs, you would never be alone and be sure of a safe and rewarding experience. This is a new role, and as such you would be starting in our development period- sometimes this role is rapid, reactive and responsive to service users' needs. We will consult and supervise you at all stages, and we would love feedback from you to improve our service!We are very busy and would to welcome more dedicated volunteers for shorter or longer shifts.A **compassionate** and **professional** attitude is non-negotiable for us, as part of offering a dignified service to all who reach us. We also expect a degree of reliability and resilience in this role. Although rewarding, challenges are inevitable given the vulnerable nature of some of our service users.If you also speak other languages including English, we'd also love to hear from you.Please note our current site requires some mobility as we are located upstairs, you may also need to safely reach items for service users, and stock our shelves.Minimum age 18+, expenses, training and supervision available from staff and volunteers.
