To help embed our D&I, FREDIE values across our organisation, we are seeking dedicated Dignity & Respect Champions. These champions will play a vital role in creating and nurturing an inclusive culture and working environment that values and respects all colleagues. PURPOSE The purpose of Dignity & Respect (D&R) Champions is to contribute to the delivery of AmcoGiffen’s Dignity & Respect 2025 workplan fostering an environment where everyone feels equal, valued, safe and respected. Regional D&R Champions will work within one of our dedicated company forums Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), Women at AmcoGiffen or Your Voice Matters to embed our company values. Our SPIRIT values represent professional conduct at work whereas the FREDIE values represent how we treat one another. Together these corporate values represent our behaviours and help shape a more inclusive work environment for everyone. The aim of our Dignity & Respect workplan is to: Ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities to create an inclusive workplace culture, outlining expected behaviours of all colleagues in line with SPIRIT and FREDIE values Reduce bullying and harassment (including sexual harassment) & discrimination in the workplace by ensuring everyone understands unacceptable behaviours Empower colleagues to challenge inappropriate behaviours Commit to lifelong learning around D&I Ensure all colleagues are aware of the process to report any inappropriate behaviours and where to access support Create an inclusive environment where all colleagues feel safe Encourage colleagues to become D&R Champions CHAMPIONS D&R Champions provide safe support to an immediate situation by listening and signposting colleagues experiencing issues to relevant support available Support the forums (D&I, Women at AmcoGiffen & Your Voice Matters) with campaign activities and associated Dignity & Respect workplan objectives Stand up and challenge disrespectful or inappropriate behaviours that do not reflect our FREDIE values Act as good role model by treating other people with respect, particularly those who are less able to stand up for themselves Undertake the Empowering Difference workshop Speak up about dignity and respect to improve the workplace culture SKILLS Approachable: Creating a safe environment for open communication Impartial : Maintain neutrality to build trust with colleagues Non-judgemental: Approach situations without biases or preconceived notions Confidential: Respecting the privacy of the individual being supported Empathetic: Demonstrating understanding and compassion Skilled Listener : Practice active listening and empathy Trustworthy: Building trust through consistent and reliable behaviour Patient: Allowing individuals to express their feelings and experiences at their own pace RESPONSIBILITIES Advocacy: Promote a culture of dignity and respect throughout the organisation by advocating for inclusive practices and behaviours Support & Guidance: Serve as a point of contact for colleagues to discuss issues or concerns in the workplace, providing or seeking further support and guidance as needed Feedback & Reporting: Gather feedback from colleagues regarding workplace culture and any incidents of inappropriate behaviours or discrimination, any barriers women may face or any ideas and suggestions for improvement and report findings to the appropriate forums or HR for further action Community Building: Foster a sense of community and belonging by assisting with organising events and initiatives that are relevant to the forums Monitoring & Evaluation: Track the effectiveness of initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement based on feedback and best practices Role Modelling: Exemplify the FREDIE values in all interactions, setting a positive example for colleagues Education & Training: Support the forums with organising and facilitating workshops, training sessions, and discussions on topics relevant to the associated forums. Assist in the development of resources, such as toolkits or guides, to help colleagues understand and practice dignity and respect in the workplace. Collaboration: Work with other D&R Champions in the different forums, accredited organisations relevant to each forum, the HR team and leadership team to align initiatives and share best practices across the organisation. Engagement Expectations All D&R Champions are expected to actively participate in the forums and contribute to the initiatives in line with the Dignity & Respect workplan aligned to the forum they choose. Your engagement is vital in promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and inclusivity throughout AmcoGiffen. Our Forums The Diversity & Inclusion Forum Our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Forum is focused on nurturing a supportive place of work which allows you to bring your whole self to work every day whilst celebrating the diversity of the communities we live and work in. Being a Dignity & Respect Champion for the D&I forum you will: Contribute to our Dignity & Respect workplan helping to ensure all colleagues are aware of their responsibilities to create an inclusive culture and empowering colleagues to challenge inappropriate behaviours. Shape & deliver our Let’s Learn About Sessions looking at Race Equality, Pride – LGBTQ awareness and Gender Identity & Gender discrimination. Work with the Armed Forces Covenant, Disability Confident and other accreditations Contribute towards our Investors in Diversity Accreditation Women at AmcoGiffen Forum Our Women at AmcoGiffen Forum is dedicated to “Empowering our People to Thrive” offering support and development opportunities to female colleagues. Being a Dignity & Respect Champion for the Women at AmcoGiffen forum you will: Create a safe space for females in the workplace Provide support and guidance for female colleagues Offer mentoring & development opportunities to allow females to thrive in their careers at AmcoGiffen Ensure equal opportunities and adequate facilities and resources are in place for females in the workplace. Host information & support sessions for female colleagues Attend STEM and Careers Events Contribute towards our Investors in Diversity Accreditation Your Voice Matters Forum The Your Voice Matters forum provides a voice for colleagues to share their thoughts and ideas on how to improve the workplace and create a safe and inclusive culture. Being a Dignity & Respect champion for the Your Voice Matters forum you will: Gather feedback from colleagues regarding any concerns in the workplace Present ideas and suggestions for improvement to the managing director & HR director Act as a voice for colleagues to have their ideas, suggestions and comments heard by the Leadership team Signpost colleagues to relevant information or support Feedback business and people updates and company and forum initiatives to colleagues Your Commitment Being a D&R Champion is not a big, time commitment away from your job role and should be integrated throughout your daily activities as you engage in the regions you work in to gather feedback from colleagues and promote D&R activities that colleagues can participate in. D&R champions will be expected to actively participate in the relevant forum meetings and contribute outside of these meetings to the actions and initiatives as part of the forum. Colleagues are actively encouraged to become D&R Champions and will not be disadvantaged in any way by expressing interest or volunteering to be a forum member. D&R champions will have full support from their line manager, senior manager and relevant operations director or department head to take part in forum activities. The Company Why AmcoGiffen?
