At John Raymond Transport we are looking for a fully qualified Trailer Fitter to join our team in Bridgend.
Key Responsibilities
1. Diagnose and repair trailers, dealing with mechanical breakdowns and damage to restore vehicles to required performance in order to minimise/or avoid unnecessary delays.
2. Provide technical knowledge/advice/skill to other team members ensuring the best decisions are made.
3. Carry out weekly inspections of vehicles.
4. Carry out preventative planned maintenance/repairs.
5. Carry out all other relevant duties as directed by the Company.
Required Qualifications/Job Training
1. Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, maintenance and repair or equivalent advantageous but not essential.
2. A clean driving licence is essential.
3. HGV category C+E entitlement (advantageous but not essential).
4. Training in IOSH working safely (advantageous but not essential).
5. Knowledge of current legislation.
6. Ability to diagnose/repair mechanical breakdowns.
7. Maintenance of HGV Trailers and good understanding of MOT standards and DVSA roadworthiness standards.
8. Understanding of ABS and EBS systems.
9. Working in a team environment with minimal supervision and a can-do attitude.
