Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: We are aged from 47 all the way to 55 so have lots of life experience, routines and important parts of our lives. We each have some communication difficulties which sometimes leads us to become anxious if you do not understand what out presentation or behaviours mean. These could include bother physical and verbal signs. Staff are trained in mandatory care skills such as first aid. New staff are buddied up to with experienced staff, to ensure they get to know our routines likes and preferences and ways of speaking and non verbal communcation. this can take some time. What is important to us To have our house just how we want it, and have a team who like to get the best of everything for us and support us to do just that in every way We love a good film with sweets, pop, vodka and beer. Not to mention x factor, dancing on ice and a bit of corrie. But favouring night is Chinese or kebab andSaturday night. I, jill love lot of blankets around me, be warm and have cosy slippers on, play hide and seek with my top. I love a good foot massage and lying on the sofa with my feet up. My favourite place is the beach for fish and chips with sea air. Finished with some tea and cake at the café Give me a spoon to mix-up a crispy cake or 2 I will help clean the bowl ( not using washing up liquid ) I, Ayser love my structure. I .love sweets, crisps and chocolate. I love to bake pies and cakes and of course lick the bowl I love a coffee and biscuit at costa and I care about my housemates making them drinks and snacks. I am a sun worshiper and love to spend hours in ti I, Michael love a good foot spa and a bag of crisps. Nothing beats a garden sunshine and sunbathing day and refreshing Guinness or lager with and ice lollies. I love music and especially like john Denver and Westlife. I like my space and quiet time and do not like dogs We live ina beautiful 2 store house on an estate in Fishburn. We have a beautiful bedroom each, Michaels was converted form a double garage to aman cave bedroom and a guest bedroom for the sleep in staff to stay in. We have a sensoryroom, kitchen, conservatory and a shared laundry, bathroom and small toilet All of the rooms are tailored to all of our tastes and needs, from unicorns, birds to plain colours and stripey curtains. Our front garden is lawn and trees to line the drive. Our back garden has a shed which Michaels stores tools and other diy stuff in and a summer house which I, Ayser bought but don’t go in as much now. Jill, I loved to sit on Michaels swing or the jack and jill ( twin ) chairs. Michael, I have a swing which i don’t mind the other guys using sometimes, but love to sit on it in peace too. Ayser, well I loves a blanket nd sun bathe on the well kept lawns. There is a poly tunnel which we grow produce and we havehad some beautiful tomatoes, leeks, garlic and even a leno plant. You should see our pictures. We have a shared lounge where we have a tv, Netflix And the kitchen, well heart of the house of course we love food We like to watch, stir, make and bake Our is on an estate called Manor park in a mining village called Fishburn We send our neighbours a card and maybe a drawn picture at xmas and deliver this. We have a drive way for 3 cars at the front of the house We have 1:1 from 8am -10 pm and a shared night/ sleeping duty. Then we have a flexible hours for 2:1 community activities for 10-9 pm depending or later/earlier if needed for other activities.. we need staff to be able to work around these shift patterns as we need full flexibility in our needs and wishes. We have various needs which you need training to understand more including Learning disabilities, autism and mental health. We need you to have training in things like safeguarding to keep us safe form harm. Medication to enable us to have medication administered safely and on time. We like staff to be able and willing to learn new skilland have lots of patience and care.
