The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading centre for the teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the world’s greatest art collections. The role
The Courtauld Gallery, based at Somerset House in Central London, is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Gallery Marketing and Communications Manager with a passion for delivering inspiring marketing communications that engage audiences with its collection, exhibitions, research and history.
You’ll be an excellent communicator with superb people management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative. You’ll have substantial campaign marketing experience within the cultural and heritage sector, with knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing strategies and trends, and a drive for hitting and exceeding targets.
This role is responsible for all levels of marketing, from implementing communications campaigns for exhibitions and events, managing the relationship with our advertising agency and managing press events and photo shoots, to building brand awareness and overseeing audience research.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Manage strategic, creative and content-led marketing plans and campaigns to promote The Courtauld Gallery’s permanent collection, exhibitions, Lates, major loans, announcements and partnerships to achieve ambitious visitor targets, to ensure key performance indicators are met and The Courtauld brand maintains a high level of awareness.
* Manage the relationship with The Courtauld’s advertising agency and work with the Head of Marketing and Communications on the strategy for paid social, search and outdoor advertising for the permanent collection and exhibitions.
* Manage the Gallery’s digital content and email programme to drive awareness, engagement and ticket conversions.
* Work with the wider Marketing and Communications team on The Courtauld Gallery's ongoing social media strategy.
* Manage The Courtauld Gallery's presence on The Courtauld website ensuring it is optimised for search.
* Ensure ongoing consistent use of The Courtauld’s brand identity across all Gallery and partner communications.
* Support The Courtauld’s relationship with its external PR agency to deliver media coverage, press view events and visits, and to work with the Marketing and Communications Assistant to manage The Courtauld’s in-house press office.
* Attend Courtauld special events as appropriate; to be prepared to undertake occasional out-of-hours work.
