An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Design & Technology faculty for an inspiring, enthusiastic and talented teacher to join the team as a Teacher of Design & Technology. The department offers two very popular programmes: Design and Technology GCSE and Level A and Engineering at Level 2 and Level 3. The faculty is very proud of its extensive workshop and machining facilities, which have recently been refitted and updated. These are used to develop a diverse range of skills for our students. Staff development and continuous curriculum development is at the heart of the faculty. The successful candidate will join the team in September 2024 and the role offers excellent opportunities for either an ECT or an experienced teacher.
The main duties and responsibilities of this post include:
1. Deliver engaging Design and Technology and Engineering lessons up to GCSE Level 2. An ability to deliver up to A Level / Level 3 would be an advantage.
2. Use ICT to enhance the teaching of Design and Technology with experience using CAD CAM and CNC machinery.
3. Make a valuable contribution to planning, tracking and assessment.
4. Be involved in the faculty’s broad and varied extracurricular program.
5. Inspire student engagement and develop a passion for the subject.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
