Job summary The post holder will be able to progress from band 7 to band 8a once they demonstrate that they meet the competencies specified for Band 8a level. This is an opportunity to work in an established integrated Older Adult Community Mental Health Team with referrals for therapy from the community mental health team and the home treatment team and for neuropsychological assessment and therapy from the memory clinic. Working within a friendly and experienced team, you would have the opportunity to taking the lead on projects and team formulation. The development of supervision, project and leadership skills is also encouraged. We provide a specialist psychology service to older people seen by the Older People's multidisciplinary team in Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead CMHTE. We also carry out neuropsychological assessments within the memory clinic and home based therapy services to older people and also provide specialist services to those with people who have a dementia. We are seeking a clinical psychologist, counselling, health or CBT Therapist for this post. We are willing to interview a trainee due to complete training in September. You may also be required to travel between Trust premises as required for the performance of your duties. The role is based at Nicholson House, Maidenhead. Main duties of the job You will undertake specialist clinical assessments (psychometric, behavioural and neuropsychological, as appropriate) based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the care. Use assessment information to evaluate need and to inform decisions about clinical provision, also taking into account service user/carer views and the views of other professionals alongside information about historical, developmental and physical/ cognitive/ neurological processes and altered dynamics that have shaped the individual, family or group, relevant theoretical and therapeutic models, research findings and current evidence, and national and service guidance. Manage a clinical caseload and support the implementation of intervention plans with service users and their families/carers as well as with other services and agencies also involved in the care as required. Provide specialist psychological advice, consultation and clinical guidance to other professionals, carers, services and system partners, contributing directly to service users' formulations, diagnoses and treatment plans, within the service and area of specialism. This includes assistance and advice on issues of mental capacity and consent to treatment.
