We have an opportunity for an Advanced Embedded Engineer to join our SATCOM team in Tewkesbury. This position is responsible for a variety of professional level engineering responsibilities. Advanced Embedded Engineer uses knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools in order to complete and ensure compliance of various project subtasks. Interacts and co-ordinates with internal-external customers as well as internal-external teams in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. Takes initiative to develop and define engineering processes and products, and is recognized as an emerging authority within SATCOM organization. Is an effective mentor to lower-level engineers.

Advanced Embedded Engineer Responsibilities
1. Able to independently plan and execute project subtasks to meet customer specifications (designing, testing, etc).
2. Has wide range of technical skills – Embedded, C/C++, Python, Linux etc, source control.
3. Is able to convey technical concepts using clear and concise communication.
4. Conducts project status and process presentations for leadership and external customers.
5. Interfaces with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
Key skills:
1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
2. Experience as software design engineer in either the Cellular or SATCOM (particularly Inmarsat) sectors.
3. Technical background in wireless communications and in particular modem/wireless transceiver architectures.
4. Knowledge of signal processing and DSP would be a distinct advantage.
