THE ROLE
This new role will research and develop partnership opportunities with audio platforms, advertisers and IP owners, build new business partnership models to help drive commercial innovation, acquire new customers and source revenue growth opportunities for the business. The role will share market insight in support of strategic objectives and manage day-today relationships with key commercial partners and funders.
The successful candidate will:
1. Use their entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities for new business and proactively develop partnership proposals, business models and deal terms to help secure new funding partners and IP owner relationships.
2. Understand market trends in the UK, US and other key markets, finding and using data to support commercial decision-making and target market opportunity.
3. Work closely with partners to drive the best possible deals and to ensure our rights position is protected at all times.
4. Work with business affairs teams to support and, when necessary, lead deal negotiations and ensure partners are managed effectively throughout those negotiations.
5. Manage first class relationships with all content partners and funders.
6. Source relationships with new partners across the wider industry by attending networking events, conferences, and trade events
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• A passion for podcasting and audio content across a range of genre.
• Proven track record of building partnerships within the audio/podcasting industry.
• Knowledge of the key audio markets worldwide.
• Experience of commercial deal making, negotiating and business development.
• Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and sound business understanding within a commercial environment.
• Ability to pitch partnership proposals confidently and appropriately.
• Ability to develop detailed partnership documentation and evidence thorough commercial analysis of recommended deal terms.
• Good knowledge of contractual and copyright matters and rights valuation procedures.
• Ability to understand and work within policy and deal frameworks (eg. BBC Fair Trading policy).
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
• Experience of working in a matrix organisation.
• Experience of building productive working relationships across a range of different teams – eg. marketing, comms, distribution, sales.
• Experience of working with creative teams to originate content partnership opportunities.
• Digital content production and social media experience.

Band: D
Salary: £52,600 - £65,000 (plus London weighting at £5319) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Office Base is London, Television Centre
Interviews are expected to be held on 5th and 6th December, with 2nd interviews the following week (w/c 9th December)
