Platform Property Care has an opportunity for a Trainee Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Grounds Maintenance Team based in Worcester covering our Estates and communities in Worcestershire on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This is an ideal role for someone who loves working outdoors and creating great looking environments for our customers.
What will you be doing as a Trainee Grounds Maintenance Operative?
As a Trainee Grounds Maintenance Operative you will learn all about what it takes to make sure our customers’ communal areas and green spaces are maintained to a high and safe standard. You will produce work of the highest quality while providing excellent service to our customers, clients, and your team.
As part of your training, you will learn how to carry out a range of high quality horticultural and grounds maintenance work. The work will be varied and interesting and you will have the support of an experienced team throughout.
You will be responsible for looking after the green areas in and around our estates. Your duties will include tractor and pedestrian grass maintenance, brush cutting/ strimming, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, planting, weeding, and litter picking.
On successful completion of the 6 month training period, permanent Grounds Maintenance Operative roles are available.
Some things we need from you
• You’ll be motivated and passionate about making a difference to our external landscape
• Full current valid driving Licence essential as this is a mobile role
• You will really enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Customer care skills
• Team working
• You'll need to live close to Worcester where the depot is based (WR3 postcode)
Some things you need to know
The working pattern for this role is an annualised contract:
• Summer (March – November) 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday
• Winter (December – February) 32.5 hours a week Monday to Friday
Due to the work pattern applicants would need to be aged 18 or over.
This role is mobile, so it is essential you have a current valid driving licence. Unfortunately, we cannot progress applications from applicants who do not hold this.
