Head of IT Workplace
Location: Any UK or Ireland office
Day Rate: £550 - £700pd
Length: 6 Months
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Head of IT Workplace to lead the IT end-user environment for a multinational organisation. This is a global leadership role focused on optimising workplace IT solutions, ensuring seamless user experience, and driving innovation in collaboration tools, device management, and IT security.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the IT Workplace strategy in alignment with business goals.
* Build and lead a high-performing team to support IT workplace solutions across multiple regions.
* Manage end-user hardware, Microsoft 365, software packaging, and IT support processes.
* Oversee Active Directory (AD) / EntraID management and ensure high data quality.
* Drive standardisation of IT systems, minimising complexity and maximising efficiency.
* Establish and maintain best-in-class IT collaboration platforms.
* Lead global IT workplace transformation projects, ensuring smooth integration across business units.
* Enhance IT security in line with corporate compliance and risk management policies.
* Work closely with stakeholders to improve user productivity through effective IT solutions and training.
Key Objectives (First 12 Months):
* Set up and train the central IT Workplace team.
* Standardise and implement global end-user hardware and software solutions.
* Roll out a stable IT environment (client builds, AD, M365, software management) in the UK & Ireland.
* Develop a clear end-user training and communication strategy.
* Plan the IT workplace integration for European and North American teams.
What We’re Looking For:
* Extensive experience (5+ years) in IT Workplace leadership within a global business.
* Expertise in Microsoft client environments (Windows OS, M365, Intune, software deployment).
* Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure, collaboration tools, and security protocols.
* Proven ability to build and lead IT teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate and influence at all levels.
* Experience working in a private equity-backed organisation (desirable but not essential).
