Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small, friendly Endoscpy Team at The Grange Medical Centre.
We are looking for a full time/part time Lead Endoscopy Nurse.
The service runs over seven days per week and occasional weekend work will be included.
We are a JAG accredited unit, just recently completing our 5 year re-accreditation, and we are looking to directly employ a Lead Endoscopy Nurse to work within the unit and support the ongoing JAG accreditation.
Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based, patient-centered care for our Endoscopy Service.
To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting our philosophy of care.
To deliver a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, utilising the systems in place within the department, and building on our philosophy of patient involvment.
To support our small team of Healthcare Support Workers in triaging patients prior to their procedure(s).
To support the Secondary Care Manager in reviewing SOPs, policies and procedures.
To support the Secondary Care Manager in conducting staff appraisals.
To keep updated with the BSG guidelines.
To work in line with the polices and procedures already in place with the service.

Job responsibilities
To perform as the Lead Nurse within the Endoscopy Unit, providing support and advice to both clinical (directly employed and agency) and administrative members of staff.
To be able to work confidently and competently, both as a team and independently, in all areas of Endosocpy - Admittance, Procedure Room and Discharge
To support the Healthcare Support Workers in ensuring that all patients are effectively triaged prior to their procedure(s) and to provide appropriate medical advice as required.
To work effectively as part of a small, friendly team carrying out endoscopy procedures within the unit.
To assist the Secondary Care Manager in the development and updating of SOPs,policies and procedures
To support the Secondary Care Manager in carrying out annual appraisals for healthcare support worker staff
To keep up to date with BSG Guidelines
To provide clinical input and support with JAG assessments, re-accreditations and procurement bids

1. Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner
2. NMC/HCPC Registered
3. Professional Registration/Qualification

4. Recent experience of working in an endoscopy setting
