BMW UK, Financial Services, Farnborough – Human Resources - 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
We have two placement opportunities in our Human Resources team in Farnborough, in HR Management and HR Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (D,E&I).
The HR Function enjoy operating as a small team to ensure the administration that underpins our HR activities and processes are delivered proactively, in the best timescales and to the highest standard, requiring a high degree of accuracy and discretion. This results in a great service delivery to our customers and provides opportunity for making improvements to services as required.
At BMW we are passionate about the world in which we operate and our HR team, along with six D,E&I employee network groups, are on a journey to educate, raise awareness and drive change on important issues such as mental health, gender, disability and more.
What awaits you could include…
5. Support HR colleagues with all Operational aspects of HR including: liaising with centralised and local departments and internal departments to resolve day to day issues
6. Undertake ad-hoc HR related projects as required to support the HR team. This may include projects within the wider HR teams – Recruitment, Planning & Steering, Talent & Development.
7. Produce letters (using templates) to employees as required by HR colleagues within agreed timescales, e.g. improvement notices as part of managing attendance, discipline / capability letters, consultation letters, etc.
8. Generating D,E&I Awareness: This includes things like: creating and updating our D,E&I publicity material; organising and setting up drop-in sessions/external speaker events, and creating and editing podcasts & newsletters, to underpin the D,E&I Culture.
9. Maintaining our internal and external D,E&I profile: Examples include: External Benchmarking (e.g. Stonewall, Race at Work Charter, enei TIDE, etc.); employee data collection; internal D,E&I Survey; Gender Pay Gap narrative; etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
10. Ideally studying HR degree, or a degree in a Business or Psychology related subject, which requires or would benefit from an element of HR experience.
11. A passion and strong interest in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
12. Strong MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
13. Excellent organisation skills - of yourself and others and the ability to juggle priorities.
14. Confident to build a strong and effective network, as well as to speak up with ideas, etc.
15. Clear, enthusiastic and effective communicator – to various stakeholders and audiences.
16. A self-starter and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
17. High accuracy and attention to detail, as the things you produce could be seen by a large and diverse audience.
