Working with the Head of Delivery to develop and implement the testing strategy to deliver market leading products and good customer outcomes.
A key part of the role is to ensure effective governance and oversight of internal and external testing activities and ensuring they align with regulations, policies, standards, and procedures and that all outsourcing contractual agreements are met.
As a Test Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering our transformation roadmap, ensuring that all testing activities align with our quality-first approach. You will be responsible for defining and overseeing the Test Strategy, managing testing activities across internal Agile teams and external providers. This includes working closely with third parties, one of whom provides Testing as a Service (TaaS), to ensure a consistent and seamless approach to testing across all workstreams. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, attending working groups, and ensuring that all releases are supported by a structured Test Sign-Off pack, demonstrating readiness for production.
You will oversee a range of testing activities, including in-sprint testing, exploratory testing, performance testing, load testing, and accessibility testing. You will also support test automation efforts, working with tools such as Playwright and Selenium. With no direct line management responsibilities, this role demands strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to drive best practices and maintain high-quality testing standards. The ideal candidate will have experience defining and implementing Test Strategies, particularly within multi-provider environments, and a background in Financial Services would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
* Define and implement the Test Strategy to ensure a consistent and seamless approach to testing across internal Agile teams and external providers, including Testing as a Service (TaaS).
* Oversee all testing activities, ensuring alignment with the transformation roadmap and maintaining a quality-first approach to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
* Manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and adherence to agreed testing processes and standards.
* Ensure a structured Test Sign-Off process, compiling comprehensive Test Sign-Off packs to confirm adequate testing before production releases.
* Provide MI and KRI data to demonstrate the state of testing activities for the purposes of good project governance.
* Monitor and coordinate internal Agile teams’ testing efforts, including in-sprint testing, exploratory testing, and story mapping sessions using a Three Amigos approach.
* Oversee performance, load, and accessibility testing, ensuring all aspects of system reliability, scalability, and usability meet business and regulatory requirements.
* Support test automation initiatives, working with teams using Playwright and Selenium, and identifying opportunities to communicate and improve automated test coverage.
* Attend and contribute to testing-related working groups, providing expert insights and ensuring alignment across all testing stakeholders.
* Track, report, and continuously improve testing effectiveness, using appropriate metrics and KPIs to drive quality improvements.
* Stay up to date with testing tools, technologies, and best practices, ensuring the business benefits from the latest advancements in testing methodologies.
About You
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience as a Test Manager, with a track record of defining and implementing Test Strategies in complex, multi-provider environments.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across internal teams and external providers.
* Strong understanding of Agile testing practices, including in-sprint testing, exploratory testing, and the Three Amigos approach to story refinement.
* Experience managing third-party testing providers, ideally with exposure to Testing as a Service (TaaS) models.
* Hands-on knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools, particularly Playwright and Selenium, with an understanding of how automation integrates into Agile delivery.
* Familiarity with performance, load, and accessibility testing, and how they contribute to overall system quality and compliance.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset to drive quality improvements.
* Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
