About the Role
Our client, a Mid-Market Private Equity fund, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer to join a rapidly growing, complex engineering business. With a current revenue of £40 million and strong profitability, the company is looking for an experienced, commercially minded CFO to support a strong finance function and lead the business to exit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in private equity, particularly in engineering, construction or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
* Private Equity Relationship Management: The CFO will serve as the main liaison between the company and Private Equity investors, providing timely financial updates and reports to the Board.
* Financial Strategy & Leadership: Leading the development of the company’s financial strategy. They will advise the CEO and leadership team on business strategy, fundraising, and operational planning. They will continuously refine financial processes, systems, and workflows to support scalability as the business grows, and will develop the finance team.
* Financial Management & Reporting: The CFO will oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They will prepare monthly financial reports, offering performance insights analysis to the CEO and Board. They will also manage forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow processes.
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
* The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in a Private Equity-backed business, within engineering, construction or related sectors. They should have a proven ability to manage financial operations for a company with £40m+ in revenue.
* Strong, commercial finance ability is essential and as well as the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for the wider business is key.
* The CFO should have expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as leadership skills to influence senior stakeholders.
* The candidate must also have a background in technical finance, and be a qualified accountant. A comprehensive understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and compliance is required.
Education
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
