Risk Business Partner (with HR/People/Finance function knowledge) - Permanent - Edinburgh - Up to £70K
Evolve IT Recruitment is working with a leading fintech organisation based in Edinburgh that is known for delivering a top-class client experience and is looking to grow its Risk Management team with the hiring of a Risk Business Partner for their support functions (HR and finance) that will support the business's continued success worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering a risk management framework that delivers tools to control and monitor risk in line with UK regulatory expectations, this will include risk both internally and externally and for both existing and new business. You will have a strong background in risk management tools and frameworks and will be used to providing oversight of risk management policies while working with senior stakeholders in the business to ensure the embedding of best practice procedures that deliver clarity around exposure and risk position.
This role is a huge opportunity to shape the risk management within the support functions of our client, it is a highly visible role internally that has stakeholders in both the UK risk committee and the UK board, and it offers the opportunity to grow within a department that will be continuing to expand. The role is based in Edinburgh hybrid (three days per week) and offers a salary of up to £70K with an excellent benefits package.
Responsibilities
1. Work with stakeholders to implement risk management reporting and manage projects delivering solutions to regulatory change.
2. Manage 2LOD risk assurance reviews; this includes the scheduling, execution, and implementation of assurance plans and supporting documentation, through to the delivery of review reports.
3. Sit on governance committees aligned to 2LOD.
4. Deliver monthly report packs for UK-wide Risk Committee and UK board.
5. Evaluate new business activities from a risk standpoint, outlining potential exposures and best practice.
6. Oversee the RCSA framework and ensure effective controls are in place.
7. Use internal governance and compliance systems to manage risk management oversight.
Essential skills required
1. Experience in a first-line or second-line risk management role (preferably from an Asset Management or Fund Management background).
2. Good knowledge of risk management best practice.
3. Stakeholder management experience.
4. Strong influencing skills, adept at challenging upwards with diplomacy.
5. Excellent planning and organisational skills.
6. Experience presenting risk management reports and dashboards to senior management.
7. Knowledge of FCA handbook and regulations, and financial crime regulations.
