Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a C++ Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Bristol. This role involves developing solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems, with a focus on safety, performance, and dependability.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing and developing Command and Control architectures for future products
Proactively contributing to the evolution of software solutions
Collaborating with team members to maintain development momentum
Ensuring effective documentation throughout the software development process
Implementing and integrating automated target solutions
Exploring new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve process efficiency and sustainability
Engaging with requirement authorities to ensure alignment with project goals
Job Requirements:
Strong background in software engineering and understanding of system-wide impacts
Experience in working with embedded C/C++
Collaborative and open approach to development
Experience across the entire software development process
Familiarity with other languages such as Ada and QT
Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems
Understanding of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508, and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++
