What you'll be doing:
Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor - Advanced Radiation Safety Certification is critical for this position
To support and manage the Radiography inspection team, utilising SAP and the request database to organise and plan the delivery of radiography requirements
Effective management of holidays/overtime to support delivery
Ensure the inspection team are working within H&S guidelines and demonstrate effective use of HSE processes, documents and risk assessments
Deliver toolbox talks and regular communications sessions and support operations build meetings/plan of the day/night
Demonstrate and maintain quality of the teams work by monitoring and supervision/reviewYour skills and experiences:
Essential
PCN Level 2 in RT welds minimum or with RPS Qualification and industry proven experience
Thorough understanding of Ionising Radiation Regulations 2107 and The Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016
UK Driving License
Confident with Microsoft Excel and Word programs Desirable
HNC or equivalent in a STEM Discipline
SHE - Managing People or Equivalent
ILM Level 2/CMI Level 3

The Quality Radiography Team:
The Radiography Department supports all aspects of Submarine Build across the Barrow site to ensure the highest quality product is produced for the Royal Navy. Our team consists of a diversely experienced and knowledgeable group, who work over various shift to support production activities. You will be working predominantly with 2 team leaders and 10 other inspectors in Days, including 3 apprentices. You will also cross over with 22 inspectors who cover all Open Shop Radiography on nights. Now is a really exciting time to join the team as we are currently transitioning into Digital application processes in replacement of older technology and we have gained international awareness for our progress, which will shape the future of Submarine Non-Destructive Inspections. We offer relocation support packages across all submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
