Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Special Needs School - Greenwich - ASAP Start - From £100 per day


Key Requirements:

1. Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour
2. Strong behaviour management skills and ability to de-escalate situations
3. Experience in a SEND, SEMH, or Alternative Provision setting
4. Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
5. Team Teach or de-escalation training is desirable but not essential

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School in Bexley, supporting students aged 6-19 with ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
2. Assist in managing challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies
3. Help students develop their social and emotional skills
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to implement behaviour strategies
5. Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

The School:

This Ofsted-registered Independent Special Needs School provides tailored education for 50 students who have faced challenges in mainstream settings due to their SEND needs. The school offers small class sizes and personalised learning, focusing on building trust, relationships, and routines to help students thrive.
