To be successful in this role, you will need to possess good Technical Underwriting expertise and be comfortable with stepping up as a key referral point for technical queries within the team.
The role:
As a Senior Technical Underwriter, you will report into work closely with the Head of Technical Underwriting, and you will be accountable for technical underwriting, the training and development of the underwriting community as well as supporting the Head of Technical Underwriting in implementing change, drafting policy wordings and contractual documentation.
Your Responsibilities:
* You will collaborate with the management team to develop and refine underwriting guidelines and policies.
* Proactively support the business in improving the underwriting process, reduce leakage and ensure a first class customer proposition.
* Utilise data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in underwriting processes and pricing.
* Act as a mentor and coach to support the development of underwriting staff to ensure a consistent approach and conduct peer reviews to support learning development to Technical Underwriters.
* Work with the Reporting & Pricing Analyst to develop new analytical tools and methodologies.
* Ensuring consistency in contractual and policy documentation with company standards, aligned to our underwriting strategy.
* Work closely with QGU, Legal & Claims, to help align wordings with underwriting intent.
* Collaborate with the Head of Technical Underwriting to lead in the innovative development of new and existing products and services.
