We're looking for an expert Senior Unity Developer to join our award-winning Immersive team at Journey's Squint/Opera studio in London About the Studio: Squint/Opera is Journey's immersive design studio, bridging the digital and physical worlds through groundbreaking storytelling and emerging technologies such as Unreal Engine and virtual twins. We're the innovators behind the Empire State Building Observatory's digital reinvention, creating over 40 unique exhibits that transform 10,000 square feet into an interactive journey through history and architecture. At Battersea Power Station, we designed Lift 109, an immersive ascent experience that melds cutting-edge animations, interactive elements, and spatial soundscapes to breathe new life into London's iconic landmark. For Qiddiya City, we pushed the boundaries of virtual production, crafting a revolutionary campaign that ignited global excitement for Saudi Arabia's visionary sports and entertainment mega-development. We're at the forefront of a new era in experiential multidimensional design (MDX) and an integral part of Journey’s Experience Stack. Inspired by the concept of a tech stack, our Experience Stack draws on decades of cumulative expertise from our physical, lighting, live & immersive, and emerging technology studios to produce magical, meaningful, original work. About the Role: We are seeking a real-time developer to join our digital team. The role is a unique opportunity to lead high-profile projects across the globe. The ideal candidate will be focused on all technical aspects, from creative support to delivery. A thorough understanding of real-time development Unity is required together with a problem-solving approach and an eagerness to learn. Main Responsibilities: Lead our interactive projects for museums Reporting to the tech director Technical implementation and solutions of bespoke Applications for interactive, experiential projects with ongoing maintenance where necessary. Working together with external teams and freelancers Assisting in-progress developments, liaison with AV integrators Development of interactive software for a range of new interactive exhibits, ranging from VR, and AR to touchscreens Maintaining and improving our current workflow. Sharing knowledge and collaborating with designers, producers, and other developers to deliver a successful project. Keeping up with the latest digital and real-time industry standards to support our digital offering and end-user experience. Foresee potential issues in production and help resolve them. Outcomes: Working together with the digital, creative, and producer teams, you will be involved in long-term projects from start to finish under the supervision of Squint's technical director. In parallel, your role will assist or overview the good execution of short-term digital endeavours. You will also be involved in maintaining cohesion within our code base together with improving our workflow. The nature of physical installation will sometimes require you to travel on-site to set up your digital creations. About You: You are a highly skilled senior developer with strong knowledge and experience with Unity 3D.
