About the role:
Working in our test and calibration suites, the objective of this varied role is to carry out instrument calibration to ISO or UKAS standards, test customer products for conformance, stock control/handling, assisting with the production of reports and certificates for clients, and the processing of hire stock. The role will require flexibility and teamwork in line with our 'one' company strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Comply with and operate to all Health & Safety and quality assurance requirements in accordance with relevant standards.
* Perform traceable & UKAS accredited calibrations and testing building services components including, but not limited to, weather louvres & storage heaters under ISO 9001 & BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems.
* Install, manage, and handle customers' kit and test samples, items, and instrumentation.
* Calibrate and maintain reference apparatus, including conformance checks.
* Preparation and packing of instruments prior to hire and receipt of stock returns.
* Liaison with customers and internal colleagues.
* Preparing report data and ensuring the test work is properly documented and filed (complying with formal procedures).
* Any other duties as required by your line manager.
About you:
* Knowledge of the fields of air flow, temperature, and pressure is a significant advantage.
* Experience of working in a test environment or calibration laboratory; understanding of health and safety compliance and quality assurance standards.
* PC literate - MS Office (Excel/Word).
* Good numeracy and administrative skills and in-house systems; problem-solving and practically minded.
* Ability to work in a team with a flexible approach.
Qualification(s) Required:
* Recognized qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering or relevant experience.
