Hurst Lodge School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Food Technology/Cookery Teacher dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for students of varying abilities, including those with SEND. The ideal candidate will be adept at delivering high-quality lessons in Food Technology, engaging students through practical, hands-on learning experiences. Experience delivering BTEC and WJEC qualifications would be advantageous, with a commitment to student-centered, inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
* Curriculum Delivery : Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in Food Technology and Cookery in alignment with the KS3, KS4, and KS5 curriculum requirements.
* Qualifications Offered : Prepare students for qualifications including BTEC and WJEC, ensuring they gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.
* SEND Support : Adapt and differentiate teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of students with SEND, using inclusive and accessible approaches.
* Student Engagement : Inspire and engage students through interactive and practical lessons, fostering a love for culinary arts and healthy cooking practices.
* Assessment and Feedback : Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Safety and Compliance : Ensure all culinary practices comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe learning environment.
* Continuous Development : Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with curriculum standards, teaching methodologies, and SEND support strategies.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualifications : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with specialism in Food Technology, Cookery, or related field.
* Experience : Proven experience teaching Food Technology/Cookery at KS3 to KS5, with particular expertise in BTEC and WJEC qualifications.
* SEND Knowledge : Strong background in supporting students with SEND, with experience adapting teaching strategies for diverse learning needs.
* Skills : Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom culture.
