Overview of project/role
Responsible for managing and facilitating third party electrical contractors in delivering a world class planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault response service across all LU Electrical LV Assets. This will include ensuring compliant maintenance programmes are in place that align to the contract requirements, facilitating access and liaison with associated LU interfaces, and responding to formal Technical Queries from the contractor(s). In addition, you will undertake a complete audit of maintenance documentation for Electrical Inspection & Testing (EIT) and Statutory Electrical Testing (SET), including health and safety requirements, and audit sample of onsite activities. All contract activities are to be monitored and reported on a weekly basis with key information recording in the Asset Management Systems (Maximo).
Key Accountabilities
* Custodian/s of all EIT Remedial works/Electrical asset base for stations and non-public buildings. Review, acceptance and collation of NICEIC documentation produced by Statutory Electrical Inspection team across 2000+ premises.
* Review, acceptance and collation of documentation/testing evidence for PAT, Lightning Protection, Switch Room Inspection, Emergency Lighting, RCD Testing and any electrical asset group managed by the Maintenance Delivery Manager.
* Tracking and reporting on EIT/SET PAT, Lightning Protection, Switch Room Inspection, Emergency Lighting, RCD Testing and any electrical asset group on periodic basis.
* Primary LUL contact for incumbent contractor to meet contractual obligation to provide technical interface.
* Defect categorisation, prioritisation programming and planning for defect remedial works. Identify and report on dilapidated assets for insertion to the work bank. Review and acceptance of previously unidentified defects which require urgent remedial action.
* Liaison with multiple discipline asset management teams to facilitate Isolation planning.
* Undertake site visits to inspect completed incumbent PPM, faults and remedial works.
* Undertake Site safety inspections, auditing and reporting, as required by contracted LUL obligation.
* Attendance to SET meetings and incumbent visualisation meetings to provide technical support and measurement/analysis of progress against KPIs.
* Regular liaison with the Maintenance Delivery and attendance of team meeting, P&E site meetings and visualisation meetings.
Knowledge
* A HNC, or higher, in Electrical Engineering or relevant qualifications (Desirable).
* Successfully completed a registered electrical apprenticeship (Essential).
* Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations and the Periodic, Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391 or equivalent) (Essential).
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft products (Essential).
* Good understanding and experience of asset management systems (Essential).
Skills
* Electrical Engineering predictive and reactive analysis.
* Organise and prioritise work to meet specified deadlines under pressure.
* Excellent leadership qualities, with conflict and relationship management skills.
* Electrical Engineering work bank instruction.
* Ability to work under minimum supervision and self-motivated.
Experience
* Experience of predictive and reactive electrical engineering analysis.
* Experience of managing contractors, manufacturers and suppliers.
* Experience of commercial decision making and BAU contract negotiation.
* Experience of forecasting expenditure through application of predictive engineering principles.
* Experience of report writing including ability to analyse Ellipse, Maximo and SAP data.
* Experience in assessing NICEIC documentation accuracy.
