About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their academic and vocational skills while fostering their independence. You will be working with students who may face challenges related to anxiety and mental health. In addition to teaching English, you will be required to teach a second subject.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support and enhance student progress.
3. Plan lessons with personalized learning targets to ensure that each student's needs are addressed.
4. Monitor student progress and actively contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
5. Maintain a structured and motivating classroom environment, ensuring lessons are both engaging and challenging.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in autism education and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
7. Assist with curriculum development and manage allocated resources or budgets when necessary.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
8. PGCE, QTS, or QTLS qualification.
9. Ability to teach Entry Levels 2 & 3, Functional Skills Levels 1 & 2, and GCSEs in English, as well as a second subject.
Desirable:
10. Experience in specialist education or working within a school environment.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. Strong planning, preparation, and reviewing skills to support student development.
13. Proficiency in IT to enhance classroom engagement and learning.
14. Calm, professional, and well-organized, especially in challenging environments.
