Milestone Infrastructure looks after 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets, and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with minimal impact to local communities. We are proud members of the 5% Club and are committed to ensuring that at least 5% of our workforce are in earn and learn roles such as apprenticeships. Currently, this figure is closer to 9% and growing.
Responsibilities:
* Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, the majority of our apprentices progress onto an assistant level position, with opportunities for further qualification or professional studies.
* Develop and maintain a good understanding of national and local policy on transport and development management.
* Understand the transport networks, facilities, and characteristics of the area.
* Assist in the development of transport Business Cases for new funding, providing supporting information using various technical software packages including PTV VISUM and AIMSUN (traffic modelling), Junctions10, TUBA, and COBALT.
* Provide advice on the transport impacts of proposed development and ensure compliance with transport policy to senior team members.
* Assist in the preparation of reports and written evidence related to planning applications and, where appropriate, for appeals in the planning process.
* Liaise with network and industry colleagues and external professional bodies to develop and maintain knowledge of good practices within the planning and transport development management field.
* Ensure that allocated day-to-day correspondence and other communications are dealt with professionally, speedily, and effectively.
* Attend Aston University on a Block Release basis for the duration of the apprenticeship.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, varying by day.
