Job Overview
This busy, purpose-built Haematology/Oncology Unit is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate SACT Coordinator with good organisational and communication skills to complement the existing team.
The unit is comprised of a 10-chair treatment area, a 4-bedded acute oncology review bay, a private patient room, procedure room, alternative therapy suite, and many clinic rooms. The day unit is very busy, seeing approximately 250 patients per week.
The unit’s activities include the administration of chemotherapy, supportive care, stem cell transplants, and an integrated clinical trials unit.

Main Duties of the Job
The Triage/SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies) Coordinator for Haematology and Oncology patients is responsible for:
1. Coordinating all chemotherapy visit scheduling, ensuring the accurate scheduling of the nurse, the resource, and the provider visit.
2. Contacting patients when they are not in the building to obtain their appointment time.
3. Working closely with the Ward Sister/Senior Staff Nurses to ensure that schedules are accurate and the daily nurses’ schedule is complete.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00.

* Educated to diploma level or equivalent experience.
* Experience of working in a busy environment.

* Experience of working in an administrative role.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Previous experience of working in a chemotherapy environment.
