Position: Senior Care Assistant - Days
Responsible to: Care Manager
Purpose of Position:
* To support the Manager in all aspects of the Home’s management, including taking temporary charge during the absence of the Manager or Deputy.
* Administer Medication.
* Liaise with Professionals; i.e. GP's, District Nurse, SALT etc.
* Ensure Health and Well-being of all residents.
* Teaching by example to help train junior members of the care staff in all aspects of their work in the home.
* To plan, implement, and supervise the provision of quality of care, in conjunction with Service Users.
* To ensure service users retain their dignity and individuality.
* To be involved in the general activities of the Care Home.
* To maintain a safe and secure environment for service users, staff members, and visitors.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications Required:
1. Genuine interest in, and experience of working with, the relevant client group.
2. Ability to communicate at all levels.
3. Team Player.
4. Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes.
5. Satisfactory Police check and check against the POVA list.
6. N/SVQ Level 3 in Care.
7. Experience/Qualification in the Safe Handling of Medicines.
