Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
* Detailed review and documentation of client information (invoices, bank statements, payroll reports, transactions in the year)
* Assess the accuracy and reliability of client information and participate in client year end stocktake attendance (could be on weekends/around Christmas)
* Daily communication with various members of client finance teams to understand their systems and information
* Assist in preparing financial statements in our audit software
* Play a key part in meeting client deadlines, which can sometimes be quite tight!
* Working in small teams undertaking financial testing contributing your part to the audit of the company's financial statements

Course contents

* Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communications to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
* Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
* Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
* Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.
Your training plan
* Alongside the day-to-day, you will also study for your ACA Chartered Accountant Qualification through attending college courses and on the job training
* The pathway to qualification takes around 3 years if you're a Graduate - or 4 years as a School Leaver
* You'll be supported along the way by your colleagues, Managers and our dedicated Student Support Manager
Requirements
Essential qualifications
A Level in:
* 3 A Levels or equivalent (grade BBC)
* Completed Degree in any subject (grade 2.2 above)
