POSITION SUMMARY
The Automation Specialist will work alongside the Automation team to take automations from R&D conception to completion stage. The individual will provide remote or onsite support for our laboratories for troubleshooting, system upgrades, and integration. Additionally, the Automation Specialist will periodically install brand new in-house developed systems at client sites as well as provide training.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Drive automation projects throughout their life cycle from conception to final implementation.
2. Offer proficient remote and onsite support to laboratories for troubleshooting upgrades and integration of systems.
3. Install and configure innovative, in-house developed systems at client sites.
4. Conduct thorough training sessions for clients to ensure optimal system utilization and proficiency.
5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
6. Stay updated with the latest automation technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Minimum 5 years of industrial work experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Required:
1. Considerable LabVIEW Programming Skills.
2. C, C++, & C# Programming Experience.
3. Good knowledge of Acquisition and Control Systems, Motion, and Machine Vision applications and their usage on commercial systems.
4. Ability to follow and understand Electrical Circuit Diagrams, 2D and 3D design drawings.
5. Experience working with Software Team or Design Team for Engineering Projects.
6. Engineering mindset and curiosity.
7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
8. Willingness to travel for client site installations and training sessions in the Middle East, North America, as well as our main manufacturing sites located in France and Tulsa, U.S.
Desired:
1. Intermediate level French language skill would be beneficial, but not essential.
2. Petroleum Industry experience would be beneficial.
