Job Title: Interim Purchasing Manager
Location: Birmingham - Hybrid
Working Hours: Full-time, 08:30 – 17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer
Travel: Occasional (office/vendors/partners)
Day Rate: £300 - £350 per day via Umbrella

Concept -IT are delighted to be working with a growing technology business as they look to recruit an Interim Purchasing Manager to take charge of developing, implementing, and optimising procurement practices to align with the organisation’s ambitious goals.
You’ll lead a dynamic procurement team, drive cost efficiency, and oversee supplier relationships, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape procurement strategies across IT sub-categories, including software licensing, hardware, and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute procurement strategies to support business objectives.
* Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve exceptional performance.
* Manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and report cost savings.
* Optimise the organisation’s software license cost base and manage compliance for tools like Microsoft Azure, VMware, and more.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast and plan supply requirements.
* Negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
* Drive procurement transformation and deliver innovative, progressive commercial outcomes.
About You:
* Proven experience in IT procurement, including software, licensing, and cloud services.
* Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier management skills.
* MCIPS qualification preferred.
* Demonstrable success in procurement transformation in an IT or professional services environment.
* Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Exceptional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
