We are looking for a Teacher of Art & Technology.
In this role, you will value continually improving your practice and contribute to the development of other teachers by sharing ideas on best practice.
You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour by working effectively and collaboratively. Passionate about Technology as a subject, you will seek to positively impact the faculty and the academy.
This is a part-time, temporary role for 13 hours per week (Wednesday and Thursday), 52.143 weeks per year, to cover a period of maternity leave.
Art & Technology Faculty
The Art & Technology team is made up of four full-time and four part-time teachers who teach KS3 across all areas. At KS4 & KS5, the team deliver their specialist subject areas. We have three technicians who help with the day-to-day organising, ordering and preparation of materials and resources. The Art & Technology faculty is accommodated in four specialist Art rooms, four Resistant Material workshops, one ICT room, one general classroom and a Food area. We work together, as a team, to give our students the powerful technological and artistic knowledge they need for successful lives. We aim to encourage a love of our diverse specialist areas in our students; we want them to have a positive and successful experience and encourage life skills. We endeavour to use evidence-based pedagogy to achieve the best learning for all our students.
At KS4, we offer a range of qualifications, including AQA GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition, WJEC L1/2 Engineering, L1/2 Tech Award in Construction & The Built Environment, and OCR GCSE Art & Design. At KS5, we offer BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Engineering and OCR A Level Art & Design.
