Job summary Due to the resignation of one of our CAMHS Consultants, applications are invited for a replacement Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to assist in providing comprehensive child and adolescent mental health services to our Neurodevelopmental Team (ND) across the rural and urban areas of Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend. The successful candidate will join another CAMHS consultant and a multidisciplinary team which comprises Community Paediatricians, a Pharmacist, Specialist Nurses, Therapists and Support Workers. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job Provide clinical expertise to the Neurodevelopmental Service in particular with cases of complexity in the diagnosis and treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorder. Participate in the development of the service model, supporting colleagues in the establishment of a Multi-Disciplinary Service including Pathway Development. Provide liaison work at all levels with other health staff and community agencies working with children, adolescents and their families. Provide clinical care located where necessary - for instance clinics based in Special Schools and other community locations. Work closely with colleagues in Education, Local Authority and 3rd Sector in the delivery of services for Children and Young People with ND Disorders. Participate in appropriate assessment tools (e.g., ADOS, 3Di) as dictated by the requirements of the service. Work with the team to ensure robust outcome measures. Work with the team to ensure excellent performance reporting. All clinical staff are accountable and responsible for their own clinical competence and should limit their actions to those for which they are deemed competent. Clinical staff are also required to comply with the requirements of their professional organisations regarding supervision.
