Job Role Responsibilities: Working as part of a small maintenance team, Maintenance Technicians with varied skills in either electrical/instrument or mechanical are responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of the plant. Their focus is on safety, health and the environment, ensuring reliability and operational integrity, while always seeking new ways to improve equipment and systems’ performance. Responsibilities will include: Safe preparation and execution of work and handover of electrical equipment. • Responding to plant outages and emergency breakdowns which can involve flexibility in working hours, including being the on-call engineer. • Using fault finding skills and techniques to solve problems including involvement in Root Cause Analysis (RCA). • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on control panels and electrical installations. • Working to defined engineering standards and procedures. • Use of SAP system to log & track works as well as management and ordering of parts / spares. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required: Required: Completion of a recognised Electrical apprenticeship (NVQ3 Electrical Maintenance Engineer - ONC / HNC Level 4 preferable) Beneficial but not mandatory: BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) would be advantageous but not essential. Experience in fault finding using a systematic approach to get to route cause efficiently and effectively. Experience with Instrumentation and measurement equipment for example flow, level, temperature, weight and speed. Competent working with PLCs. Experience with AC & DC motors Experience with Variable Speed Drive AC & DC Experienced in Distributed Control Systems Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems Ability to interpret engineering drawings & P&IDs Basic bench fitting and workshop skills to support Mechanical Maintenance Team as required.
