Reporting to: Head of Nursing\n\nLocation: Office hours at home then delivering in the community (ideally located in the\n\nBirmingham / West Midlands area) must be willing to travel and occasional overnight stays.\n\nJob Purpose of Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN):\n\nThe overall aim of the role is to achieve the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner, through providing direct and indirect care to, including but not limited to, people we support experiencing mental health problems, behaviours perceived as challenging and acquired brain injuries. This will also include being part of the assessment process to help people move out of hospital and into their own home.\n\nEssential requirements for Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN): :\n\nMinimum 2 years postgraduate experience as RMN.\n\nExperience working with people who may present with behaviours perceived as challenging, personality disorder, or mental illness.\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nExcellent IT skills\n\nKnowledge and ability to undertake robust holistic assessments as required.\n\nHave the ability to support people in crisis and work collaboratively with the MDT to manage this.\n\nExperience working with a multi-disciplinary team along with other professions such as OT and psychology, care coordinators and health commissioners.\n\nKnowledge of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. (This includes DOLS, CTO AND MOJ)\n\nMain Responsibilities of Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN):\n\nCaseload management of people we support with complex needs.\n\nBuilding relationships with people we support to encourage trust, while listening and interpreting their needs and concerns.\n\nWorking within a CPA framework.
(CTO, MHA, MLA, MOJ).\n\nManage your time efficiently including diarising appointments and logistics of getting to and from your appointments.\n\nAssessments for new business.\n\nEnsure up-to-date risk assessments and recovery plans/PBS are in place.\n\nReport writing.\n\nLiaise with relatives of the person we support.\n\nTo communicate within the wider GHC team ensuring best level of care for the person and support for the staff.\n\nTo work collaboratively with staff teams to motivate the person we support to ensure they have a full weekly activity plan.\n\nAbility to use initiative and problem-solving skills to assist with crisis intervention.\n\nTo maintain CPD.\n\nTo access and offer supervisions as appropriate.\n\nOn Call every 6 weeks as per rota.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate:\n\n * Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)\n\n * Current NMC registration and educated to degree level.\n\n * Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development.\n\n * Willing to undertake education/courses relevant to area of practice and service development.\n\n * A minimum of 2 years post registration experience in the UK.\n\n * Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and ability to develop a therapeutic relationship.\n\n * Experience of managing a caseload.\n\n * A range of experience within hospital and community settings.\n\n * Understanding of safe and effective alternatives to hospital care.\n\n * Understanding of the Mental Health Act / Mental capacity act.\n\n * Highly developed risk assessment and management skills.\n\n * Highly developed communication skills.\n\n * Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.\n\n * Ability to engage people we support in their care.\n\n * Ability to present information both written and oral and communicate this effectively to a range of audience.\n\n * Excellence in report writing and IT skills.\n\nBenefits\n\n * Highly competitive salary\n\n * Fully paid induction and training\n\n * Company pension\n\n * Professional development\n\n * 25 days annual leave\n\n * 1 day annual leave increase after 12 months\n\n * Blue light card\n\nAbout Us\n\nGray Healthcare is a specialist Health and Social Care provider, supporting people with complex needs, disabilities and long-term conditions looking to step back into the community from in-patient support services.
