MK-Search are currently working with a well respected turnkey contractor delivering notable projects in the M&E and general construction sectors for flagship clients who due to a number of project wins are looking for an assistant mechanical project manager to join their small works business unit. Shadowing a mechanical contracts manager you will have an overview of a large number of small work projects ranging from £1,500 to £15k across 2 closeby campuses in central London which include office relocation fit outs, fan coil unit relocations and plant room replacements. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the daily mechanical construction activities on the project. Plan, develop, and organise the mechanical construction process to create the most cost-effective plan, ensuring timely completion within budget, and oversee its execution. Responsible for executing the scope of work related to construction/fabrication and pre-commissioning in line with the approved project schedule. Monitor and report project details, including progress, risks, and opportunities, to the Project Manager promptly. Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings are properly documented. Adhere to Safety, EHS, and Quality Standards in compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Manage site design and mechanical construction processes. Plan and allocate all resources, including labour, materials, and subcontractors. Lead and motivate the team to meet all project requirements and deadlines. Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders. Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience: Possess a background in a relevant trade or engineering discipline. Have over 5 years of industry experience. Previous work with a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Contractor in Ireland or the UK, ideally on Industrial or Pharmaceutical projects, is preferred. Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC and building services design. Show proven ability to manage both people and programs. Exhibit clear communication skills with all stakeholders
