HGV Technician, Fleet of Trailers, Tail Lifts and Lifting Decks – Bedford
Clemence Rogers are currently working in partnership with our client in the recruitment of an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet management company based in Bedford.
Shifts: 8:00 – 16:30 one week then 12:30 – 21:00 plus some weekend work. Overtime rate paid at time and a half.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager your key responsibilities would be:
1. Ensure quality diagnostics and repairs according to repair order
2. Attend needed trainings and obtain certifications in order to maintain and develop skills according to product portfolio
3. Provide high quality service and repair
4. Work closely with the Workshop Manager to optimise the planning for technicians in the workshop
5. Communicate to the Workshop Manager the amount of parts and labour needed for additional repairs
6. Ensure all work is quality assured and in accordance with standards and literature
7. Record and report time spent on repair and maintenance
8. Maintain working capacity of machines and tools
9. Assure clean and safe workshop at all times (Health & Safety)
10. Carry out other responsibilities given by the Line Manager

7. Product knowledge, keeping ahead of knowledge and information to ensure quality is always maintained

10. Business and commercial awareness General understanding of the value chain in any business.
11. Understanding of quality control
Qualifications and technical skills:
1. City & Guilds qualified/certified or equivalent
2. To be punctual respecting all operational hours and duties
3. To have capability in managing the full range of responsibilities with high quality
4. LGV Licence preferably CE Category
