Bayswater Leeds offers English language courses to students for whom English is not a first language, online OET courses and both pre-sessional and in-sessional EAP courses. The course portfolio will then extend to micro-credentials and soft skills training. The Centre Director is ultimately responsible for the commercial, operational, and academic needs of the centre, as well as the welfare needs of the staff and students. They will be sales-minded, customer service oriented and have strong business management skills. It is the Centre Director’s responsibility to make their centre as attractive as possible to students through the delivery of an industry-beating student experience. As part of an entrepreneurial organisation, they will be flexible and open minded with a willingness to collaborate with stake holders within the school and wider group. Key tasks and responsibilities: Leads on the development plan for the centre, including commercial and business development initiatives as well as operational needs. Manages all operational functions and ensures the running of the centre is efficient, effective, and profitable. Plans, designs, and implements an accommodation strategy that caters for the centre's accommodation needs. Reviews performance on a monthly basis using data, ensuring service and delivery are in line with objectives. Assists in the day-to-day accounting processes for the school and preparation of any required financial reports. Ensures budgets are adhered to and are reviewed as determined by the CFO, implementing any required changes. Nurtures excellent relationships with agents and sales team. Knowledge, qualifications and experience: An undergraduate degree is essential. A teaching qualification is desirable. Senior management experience in a school/college environment. Experience of managing groups of international students. Knowledge of safe-guarding of children and best practices. Numerate and IT literate with competence in Excel. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Highly organised, multitasking and able to prioritise. Strong leadership skills with ability to be a mentor for the team. Results and customer oriented with strong commercial mindset. A team player and able to build rapport and engage with a diverse range of people.
