Our client has a vacancy for a Quality Technician. Working as part of the Quality Team the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the Quality Management System are upheld, within their scope of responsibility. Although it is preferable to have held a similar position in the past, consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and adapt to new challenges and environments.
Duties
Perform inspection/measurement on new product
Prepare appropriate documentation as required by customers, and for internal purposes
Perform inspections at various stages throughout the manufacturing processProvide support to Senior Quality Engineers regarding customer complaints
Document internal rejects
Create Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
Maintain calibration system, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and records maintained
Programme/troubleshoot/operate vision system
Required knowledge, skills or experience
Previous experience in a sheet metal/fabrication environment would be advantageous
Experience working in Quality Assurance would be advantageous
A willingness to learn new skills
Training will be provided where required
Proficient in the use of basic measuring equipment
Experience of operating a portable measurement system e.g. Faro arm
Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Basic understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to demonstrate the application of attention to detail
Work individually and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible approach to carrying out tasks

Location: Ferryhill
Hours of work:
Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm
Friday 8am-12:30pm
Rates of pay:
Up to £28000 depending on experience
