Live-In Lifestyle / Care Assistant for Sports Journalism Uni Student We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a 2 nd year university student studying Sports Journalism at the University of Birmingham. Our client has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is a full-time electric wheelchair user. He is looking for a like-minded person to join their care team and to assist them in daily living whilst studying. Join his team of PAs who provide their personal care and independent living support. Start date: December 2024 (training)/ January 2025 (start) Rota: Live in - 7 days on / 7 days off Location: Birmingham City University (B4) Pay: £160 per day / £1,120 per week worked Free accommodation whilst on shift. We are looking for positive like-minded PA to assist our client with day-to-day living and general support, helping to lead as independent a life as possible. Someone who is not afraid to take the reins and support them in traveling and navigating campus is a must Duties include: - Assisting with Personal Care Toileting, dressing, showering - Health Care Administering medicine - Social Support Going to events, clubs and societies. - Daily Living Cooking, Laundry, Physio - Commuting to lectures and appointments Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided. About our Client Our client loves sports and music, so the radio will be on as much as possible The client is also an avid Boccia player and was ranked 8 th in the country for their category. Whilst at university Boccia has taken a backseat to other social activities and clubs. An example of this would be that they are on the committee for the Burlesque society which takes up four hours of their week. They also volunteer and help out on campus where possible. As written by him I am naturally quite reserved but when I am comfortable with other people, I can be very funny, I enjoy sports and get particularly passionate about certain topics. I support Southampton fc but last year I had a season ticket for Birmingham City fc and went to their home games. I like to watch sports and cook. I own a large amount of cookery books and enjoy watching shows on cookery as well as highlights of various sports from snooker to cycling. I like to listen to music a lot and try to go to as many concerts as I can. I have an eclectic taste but enjoy music from all eras. I dislike classical music. I like going out and having some peaceful time on my own, having a balance helps keep me relaxed and stress-free. My course is also quite active so I will need some downtime. Ideally, a PA being friendly and humorous is important to me as I will be socialising and having a good time during the year. Interacting with flatmates will occur as they live in extreme close proximity and will be seen often. I dont expect perfection but expect effort and willingness to do things correctly.
