Key qualities we are looking from the Banqueting Supervisor: As Banqueting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Food and Beverage Department by ensuring that all Conference and Events Meeting Rooms are excellently prepared and presented in coordination with all Business Clients Requests. This will include you attending the weekly BEO Meetings with the Hotel Operations Team, accurately noting every essential requirement from each Business Delegate that books our Meeting Rooms in holding their required Events, to liaising with the Hotel Kitchen Department in ensuring that all required dishes are prepared to managing the Banqueting Assistant in seamlessly setting up the Meeting Rooms, with finally being present during each Event so that the Business Client requests are promptly answered. This role requires tact, trust, and a real devoted passion for exceptional Guest Service - you must have the ability to assess situations quickly and act in a timely and appropriate manner in any circumstances that require your attention. The ideal candidate will have the following Skills and Knowledge: Must have proven experience within a similar Banqueting Supervisor role within the Hospitality 5 Hotel Industry. Ability to work under pressure and independently. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Positive attitude. Commitment to delivering a high level of exceptional Guest Service. Excellent Grooming Standards. Experience of setting up Conference and Events Meeting Rooms to an impeccable standard. The main responsibilities for this role would include: To review all communication and action as appropriate particularly any information coming from the Meetings and Events Manager and other departments be it in verbal or written form. Communicate changes through the Banqueting Assistant to ensure that all Conference and Events Meeting Rooms are excellently set up to exceptional presentation. Constant coaching/training of the Banqueting Assistant is required and follow up of all set ups required to verify they are set again as per standard and as per the Event order. Responsible when closing for ensuring the close down checklist is adhered to and a comprehensive handover is left for the on coming shift. Responsible in the absence of the supervisory Team to ensure that service is as per the Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel standards and that we are at all times within Health and Safety law and the service of alcohol responsibilities we have. In conjunction with the Food and Beverage Management Team, ensure that all functions and service periods are fully staffed to the right degree and that all staff are given the necessary instructions regarding set ups and service prior to each individual function. Upselling and identification of additional revenue opportunities. Maintain and adhere to billing policies and procedures. Allocate tasks to the Banqueting Assistant to ensure all duties carried out thoroughly and on time. Assist the Food and Beverage Management Team with daily briefings. During quiet periods, providing Food and Beverage (Restaurant) Support in ensuring that exceptional Guest Service is provided. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Food Safety and sanitation regulations. Being part of the small team, you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and dedicated behaviour.
