The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a band 5 podiatrist. This is a Lanarkshire wide post and includes the full range of podiatry: MSK, Wound management, Nail Surgery. Mentoring opportunities and peer case based discussions form part of the weekly timetable.
To provide professional podiatric care in a variety of settings as an autonomous practitioner while remaining part of a wider team. Providing a high level of care both palliative and corrective treatments as part of a care plan whilst liaising or referring to other Health Care Professionals or Agencies as appropriate. To plan, manage and organise own workload to ensure effective caseload management of a diverse range of patients, mainly within the community setting, ensuring appropriate delegation and on going supervision of previously assessed patients to Podiatry Technicians.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Health and Care Professions Council Registered with a degree/ diploma in Podiatric Medicine
2. Local Analgesia Certificate Working knowledge of Policies, Procedures and Protocols relevant to Podiatry in NHS Lanarkshire e.gInfection Control and Health and Safety.
3. Mandatory trainingsuch as CPR and Manual Handling.
4. Full UK driving License.
5. Keeping abreast of the latest developments and within the profession.
6. Attend courses and in-service training as required accepting ownership of personal professional development.
7. Participate in NHS Lanarkshire induction and NHS Podiatry Induction programme.
8. Be able to recognise a clinical emergency and act appropriately i.e faints, fits, anaphylaxis etc.
9. Knowledge of drugs and medicament.
10. Good communication skills.
11. Caring attitude towards patients and their carers.
12. The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs.
13. High level of personal and professional motivation.

16. Post is suitable for a newly qualified practitioner or a recent graduate
17. NHS practice Placements evidenced
18. Contemporary, broad knowledge of podiatry e.g. MSK, Nail surgery, Foot protection
19. Behaviours in alignment with the organisational values
20. Good time-keeping and clinical prioritisation skills
21. Excellent effective communication and interpersonal skills
22. Ability to give and receive feedback compassionately
