The opportunity
We’re looking for either a Senior Associate or Manager to join our Belfast-based R&D Tax Credits team.

In our R&D Tax Credits team, you will work with a diverse range of colleagues, including chartered accountants, chartered tax advisors, engineers, scientists, PhDs and software engineers. Our professionals provide pragmatic support, helping clients through the full life cycle of their R&D claim including interviewing technical staff, touring site facilities, and engaging with HMRC on clients’ behalf.
As part of our R&D Tax Credits team, you will gain exposure to interesting clients ranging from multinational groups to fledgling entrepreneurial businesses, as part of a fast-growing yet tight knit team as it moves to the next stage of an ambitious growth plan.
Your key responsibilities
1. Working with clients to maximise their R&D claims and ensure that they are submitted in a timely manner and in line with HMRC requirements.
2. Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
3. Work closely with the leadership of the R&D Tax Credits team to drive the technical development of the team.
4. Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide exceptional levels of client service.
5. Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage.
6. Provide excellent client service, including proactively identifying opportunities and risks.
7. Take responsibility for a broad portfolio of clients.
8. Business development skills - able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work by proactively managing existing clients and winning new clients.
9. Managing the delivery of for your clients using cutting edge technology.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
15. Either a degree in a technical subject (eg engineering, science, software) or hold a chartered accounting or chartered tax qualification
16. Prior experience working in R&D Tax Credits is preferred but not essential.
17. Experience of working within a Tax environment is preferred.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
19. You must hold a valid UK driving license.
