As an HWRC Operative, you will work on the frontlines of environmental stewardship, engaging with the public to assist them in responsibly disposing of household waste. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, sorting various materials, and operating machinery. Responsibilities
Assist customers in safely disposing of household waste and recyclables.
Sort and categorize different types of waste materials for recycling.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the recycling centre premises.
Operate relevant machinery and equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
Monitor waste streams and report any issues or incidents to supervisors.
Provide information and guidance to the public regarding recycling processes and regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements
Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
A strong commitment to environmental sustainability and waste reduction.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with the public.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Understanding of health and safety practices related to waste management and recycling.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.18
