18.5 hours - Looking to appoint as a Level 3/Senior Practitioner
You will be a qualified Best Interest Assessor and have in depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Deprivation of Liberty Code of Practice; and experience of completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Assessments.
As part of the MCA team, you will be the point of contact for social workers and Best Interest Assessors for guidance, support, advice and mentoring on all aspects of Mental Capacity, DoLS and DoLIC’s and will be expected to keep up to date with MCA, DoLS and DoLIC case law and legal developments.
You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
Candidates should hold one of the following specialist roles: Practice Educator, BIA or AMHP, or be willing to work towards the BIA qualification.
In conjunction with the generic Social Work job description key tasks for this job include:
1. Ability to undertake and Quality Assure high quality Best Interest Assessments and DoLIC assessments and provide clear analysis within set timescales
2. Provide advice and information to your colleagues in the wider council, partner agencies, family members and provider services.
3. Post holders will be expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the nature, level and scope of the post.
4. A good understanding and working knowledge of the Adult Social Care legal framework, particularly in relation to Mental Capacity, DoLS and DoLIC’s, understanding the particular needs of adults potentially deprived of their liberty.
5. Significant experience of working in adult social care to Senior Practitioner/Level III Social Worker.
6. Ability to work within the Professional Capabilities Framework, statutory requirements and Council policies.
