Job Overview
Are you looking for an MRI role that’s fast-paced with a wide variety of examinations? Do you enjoy learning new things and working as a member of a large team? Are you adaptable in new and challenging situations?
If so, we are offering an opportunity for a Radiographer, with MRI experience, to join our friendly team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust based in Bristol.
The work is varied and specialised as the Trust has status as:
* A tertiary cardiac centre, adult and paediatric
Main duties of the job
To work closely with the MRI team to provide a high quality MRI service inclusive of paediatric studies. There may also be the opportunity to gain experience in the field of cardiac MRI.
The MRI role is rotational through the following MRI scanners when training is complete:
* Two 1.5T scanners at Bristol Royal Infirmary which undertake Inpatient, Outpatient and GP work. Specialist areas include Oncology, Liver and MSK
* A 3T intra-operative and 1.5T scanner at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Specialist areas include Cardiac, Oncology and Neurosurgery
* A 3T scanner at South Bristol Community Hospital undertaking Outpatient and GP patients.
* There may also be the opportunity to rotate through the 1.5T scanner at Bristol Heart Institute undertaking acquired heart disease and congenital cases.
* 1.5 T scanner at Weston General Hospital
A 7/7 shift pattern, with extended days at some sites, and a 24 hour on call system is in operation.

Person specification
Qualifications and Training
* BSc (Hons) Radiography/BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Imaging/DCR as recognised by college of radiographers
* HCPC registration
* Previous MRI NHS experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working in MRI with an in depth understanding and a sound knowledge of techniques
* Experience of team working
* Experience of working in the field of paediatrics
Skills and abilities
* Willingness to learn
* Team member. Able to assist radiographers/advanced radiographers with weekend/extended day working. Taking a lead role in developing the service
* Able to show initiative
* Flexible attitude to working patterns
* An understanding of Health and Safety, Legislation and policies relating to patient care
* Sympathetic manner
* Self-motivated - skilled in time management/prioritisation
* Awareness of the needs of confidentiality
