Sandstone Hospitality Developments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to join our team. The Corporate Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all aspects of financial management. This individual will work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial guidance and support the company's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Planning and Analysis:
o Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
o Analyze financial performance, trends, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the company's financial health and identify areas for improvement.
* Financial Reporting and Compliance:
o Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting deadlines.
o Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.
* Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial targets.
o Prepare periodic forecasts and variance analyses to track performance against budget and identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Cash Management:
o Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investment activities to optimize financial resources and minimize risk.
o Implement and maintain effective internal controls over cash management and treasury functions.
* Tax Planning and Compliance:
o Work closely with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
o Coordinate the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
o Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
o Establish and maintain appropriate insurance coverage to protect the company's assets and interests.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) and restaurant point of sale systems (POS) is a plus. (QuickBooks, StayNTouch, Toast, Margin Edge)
* Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
